As we join with the people of our nation in mourning her loss and pray for those involved in making preparations for the funeral. We pray comfort and strength for the whole nation at this time as we join together to mourn the passing of Her Majesty the Queen and reflect on her life well lived.
During this period of sadness, St. Gluvias Church will be open daily (Monday – Saturday) between 10am and 12noon, for anyone wishing to enter to say their own private prayer, to light a candle or to sit and reflect on recent events.
A prayer for the new King
Everlasting God, we pray for our new King.
Bless his reign and the life of our nation.
Help us to work together
so that truth and justice, harmony and fairness
flourish among us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
A Prayer in Thanksgiving for Her Majesty The Queen
He shall stand and feed his flock in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. (Micah 5.4)
whose throne is in heaven,
whose footstool is the earth;
we thank you for your servant, Elizabeth,
your faithful servant,
our beloved Queen.
As we mourn her passing
we give thanks for her witness
of devoted service,
and faithful dedication
and pray that we may embrace her values
and build your kingdom
today and always.
