This year at Harvest we are asking people to consider offering up donations towards the Falmouth & Penryn Foodbank.
Under the current circumstances, with so many people across the country and in our own neighbourhood’s struggling with increased expenses and fuel costs, it would be beneficial if perhaps we could offer the items that people require locally.
As such, the following items are very much in demand as items of a ‘food parcel’:
- Breakfast cereals
- Soup
- Pasta
- Rice
- Pasta sauce
- Tinned beans
- Tinned meat
- Tinned vegetables
- Tinned fruit
- Tea or coffee
- Sugar
- Biscuits
- Snacks
Further details of what can be donated can be found on the website https://penrynfalmouth.foodbank.org.uk/
Other items very much in demand are:
- Adult toothbrushes
- Shampoo
- Deodorant
- Sanitary products
- Wet wipes
- Nappies (size 4, 5 & 6)
- Jars of baby food
Please offer what you can and bring your Harvest gift to church on Sunday 9 October, following which, they will be taken to the local Foodbank centre in Penryn for distribution.
If you do have any bags for life that you no longer use, would you possibly donate those also, as these would be most helpful!
For those of you that undertake a floral display in church, you may wish to incorporate any food items within it otherwise please place them on the table at the front of church, for a blessing by Fr Tim at our eucharist service.
THANK YOU.
