You are invited to a Wedding Preparation Day for couples to be married at St Gluvias (Penryn) and St Mylor churches. This is an opportunity to talk with each other about marriage and to look at the practicalities of your wedding. Past participants have found it enjoyable and informative.
The programme for the day is flexible in terms of timing though there are two fixed points: we start at 9.30am and we finish by 3.00pm. The morning is spent mainly in discussion groups, either as couples or in fours covering issues like building relationships, sharing expectations of married life, considering approaches to parenting, and dealing with stress and conflict. No one is asked to disclosure personal information that might be uncomfortable: the time is meant to be enjoyable and that’s how past attenders have found it.
In the afternoon we look at the practicalities and legalities of the wedding service including what can and can’t be done with music and readings and prayers within the framework of a Church of England wedding. We will also confirm your identities and addresses for the formal records of the church and for government purposes (please bring your birth certificates and passports).
If you have already booked your wedding day with Rev’d Amanda, you are likely to be advised of this event at the time of your enquiry.
