We are so blessed in Penryn Benefice to have so many faithful Christians in our churches, ready and willing to be a committed Christian presence in all our communities.
This Christmas there have been some wonderful opportunities to be present in and around the Benefice. I received invitations to the Switching on of the Penryn Lights and the Penryn Community College Christmas Concert. We had a great Christmas Community Service in St Gluvias Church Hall. I’ve also been to 2 Christmas Bazaars, 3 Christmas Carol Services, 5 Crib and Christingle Services and 7 Advent Adventure Workshops with local schools. Next year the plan is to make a song for the Penryn “12 events/days of Christmas.”
Christmas is such a joyful festival for all ages, and I would like to leave you with the blessing of this prayer for Christmas Day;
Lord, may we be like the Wise Men
Who were guided to you by a star,
Give us the wisdom to seek you,
Light to guide us to you,
Courage to search until we find you,
Graciousness to worship you
And generosity to lay our gifts before you,
Who are our King and our God,
Forever and ever, Amen
